Bit late to the blog, but.... We have launched our new menu. The concept is simple: in February we turn 15 years old, so we've looked back at all our old menus, sales data and customer requests and chosen 15 of the best cocktails we have ever produced. All killer, no filler.

Let's introduce you to a few

The Milk Bottle - It's always been on the menu in some form, but this one is a hark back to the original recipe. A rum punch classic made with incredible Planteray Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Rum, Old J Spiced rum and all the fruity bits you'd expect from a classic rum punch. Seriously drinkable. All ready a best seller.

Reading Milk - Another very early Milk classic, lore has it that Reading Milk was served at the Elizabethan George Hotel on Friars St to weary travellers after disembarking from lengthy horse and coach trips from Devon. It's cropped up on various menus over the years and is a perennial best seller; the 2026 version is made with the vanilla-rich Admiral Vernons Old J Spiced, Coffee, Milk, Cream, and Nutmeg. Want is vegan? Just ask

Milk Zombie - You asked for it, we delivered. The Milk Zombie is back on the menu. A truly terrifying blend of three Planteray Rums, the monster overproof OFTD (oh fuck that's delicious) Original Dark, the Barbados 5 Year, and a splash of Absinthe; it certainly packs a punch. With a lovely biscuit finish, giving a warm embrace before the fun starts. Served in repurposed beer cans, because sustainability and that. Please zombe responsibly.

Forbury Garden Gin Jar - Hailing from the 2015 menu when jam jar cocktails were a thing, and fuck it, why not bring it back eh? The Forbury Garden Gin Jar is a sublime gin refresher, made with Beefeater Dry gin, our own homemade jam and loads of botanicals. More smashable than the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

Coco and Done - Coconut Chocolate and Marshmallow, come on. Planterays fantastic Cut'n'dry Rum is the star of the show for this sweet treat, topped with a toasted marshmallow, it tastes as good as it smells.

Bloody Maria - Personal favourite here: our Orendain tequila-based, tomato savoury weapon the Bloody Maria is one hot senorita. Cholula hot sauce, Salsa, and Tajín make the spicy heart, and then the garnish is just wild. Chipotle peppers in Adobe sauce (we are obsessed), Perrelo Olives (we are obsessed - and also both available as snacks) Hot and spicy Doritos, and a big ol slice of lemon, its up there.

Thanks for reading Reading and welcome to some of our new drinks, but wait, there is more! We totally love Margaritas, Daiquiris, and Old Fashioneds, so we thought, why not have a separate menu for each? On every table, you will find a separate menu for the aforementioned, 9 unique twists on each classic, and a link to even more variations for you to explore, get stuck into the best back bar in Reading with some of your favourite drinks. They are classics for a reason!
