Dj's Smiler, Pete Nash & Fly take us on a musical trip. "So here’s a story - 40 years ago I was a young Mod in Reading. At the time most like minded folk who were into retro sounds were into Northern Soul, myself, well I was drawn to the more grittier sounds of rhythm & blues and 50’s blues. Although I attended local soul nights, I would also attend the rockin’ nights at The Butler pub to hear blues records, rockabilly etc. Pete Nash was involved in those nights and we got to know each other, he would then pop into my Mod nights at the Boars Head where I played the likes of John Lee Hooker, Slim Harpo etc. Now even though I carved out my name as a DJ with my rare R&B/ blues collection, I rarely play it much these days.
